The Scrum Master – a comparison between theores and practice (Bachelor’s thesis – finished)
Scrum is now state-of-the-art in software development. Especially in large corporations, the agile method is scaled to well over 50 teams. The Scrum Master is an important key position in the agile way of working. In this way, he ensures the agile way of working, moderates meetings and supports the agile organization. In the literature, the role is described very clearly. In practice, however, the agile way of working is often adapted to the specific framework conditions of the company and the role of the scrum master and its tasks differ from the usual way of working.
- Literature analysis
- Interview 5 Scrum Masters from one group
The two methods are used to compare the role, challenges and opportunities of the role of the Scrum Master between theory and practice.

Companies are therefore recommended to bring about changes in their value-added strategies and processes, as well as in their innovation models and management methods, in order to remain competitive. These changes certainly also affect managers and their management behaviour. Many authors believe that there is a shift in existing leadership methods with a focus on the character of executives. Niche sites on the Internet – the digitization of business models (Bachelor’s thesis – finished)
“It’s never been so easy to reason!” is not only a motto in Silicon Valley, but also applies to private individuals. This is reflected in the high number of almost 1 million part-time start-ups. Most of it takes place online in the form of webshops and Internet-based models such as blog or affiliate marketing. Building these niche sites is very simple, but monetization seems to be a problem. There are well-known methods such as: Affiliate Marketing and Performance Marketing.
A major factor at the moment is the number of visitors, which have a significant impact on sales. In this bachelor’s thesis, the question is therefore to be answered:
How is the relationship between visitor numbers and the turnover of a niche side differentiated according to the two income methods.
With the help of a literature analysis, the two methods are to be developed and then the turnover and visitor numbers of niche sites are to be developed in a survey.

Bimodal IT – Combination of traditional and agile IT – Master’s thesis (Finished)
Those who master bimodal IT are better off in the digital business (Gartner 2016).
Gartner also notes that bimodal IT organizations meet the requirements of digital business models in terms of flexibility, time-to-market, and innovation. John Kotter also put forward the thesis: “Organizational structures are not suitable for enabling rapid and agile action”. According to current literature, organizations therefore need a dual operating system: stability and agility. hierarchies and networks, Kotter said. Gartner, on the other hand, speaks of a two-speed IT organization as a solution to this scenario.
However, the current implementation of these bi-modals or two-speed IT is still highly controversial and companies are faced with the question of what the framework conditions for such a model might look like.
The aim of this work is to define the framework conditions for such bimodal IT using literature. This framework is then evaluated with the help of managers and a fictitious case study with a concrete implementation of the framework is conceived on the basis of literature and interviews.
