In cloud computing, you can choose between many providers. Among the most common are AWS and AZURE. You can find out exactly how these two models are structured and what added value they offer you here.
What is cloud computing?
However, before this article discusses the two different forms of cloud computing, AWS, and Azure, you should first clarify what the generic term is.
Cloud computing describes moving information and applications to a cloud. This provides them dynamically and on demand, along with the required IT resources. This deployment occurs on a network, such as the Internet. This gives cloud computing the advantage of eliminating the need for local installations for the user. Instead, the user can use the service via interfaces, protocols or a web browser. This gives it a much more flexible way of working and access from anywhere.
Among the various possibilities of cloud computing, AWS and Azure are among the leading providers, so this article takes a closer look at both options.
AWS stands for Amazon Web Services. It describes a subsidiary of Amazon, which can now be one of the world’s leading cloud providers. AWS is one of the public clouds. It offers companies the opportunity to develop their own applications independently without first purchasing product licenses or server slots. In a kind of self-service, the company is thus free to provide a well-founded and proven IT infrastructure at all times.
Benefits of AWS
AWS is distinguished by its virtual cloud servers. Users can access them all the time and from anywhere. It also provides common operating systems with Linux and Microsoft Windows. In addition, the AWS Marketplace offers an ever-growing selection of software from the areas of IoT, AI, and Big Data, among others.
In addition, AWS users can take advantage of the large storage space and store virtually any amount of data. This can then be accessed via HTTP/HTTPS and is billed only according to the space used. As part of this, two online-based databases are available to the user with SimpleDB and Relational Database Service (RDS).
The content is provided by the Content Delivery Network CloudFront. In addition to individual files, you can even make entire domains available.
With comparatively manageable costs, the amount of different services, and a range of tools for developers, from analyzing, debugging, testing, and deployment, AWS is popular with many organizations.
AZURE is Microsoft’s cloud computing platform. It is aimed at the target group of companies and developers who have been using them for almost a decade now. Microsoft has always expanded its service on a regular basis, so that users now have services from a wide range of areas, such as Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS), which can be purchased directly from the cloud.
Benefits of AZURE
In addition, various storage systems as well as a variety of databases are provided to the user. This makes the cloud computing platform AZURE very flexible and therefore customizable for the user. It is also characterized by its high scalability and worldwide access.
For organizations that don’t want to move all their information, systems, and applications to the cloud, AZURE also has the advantage of having the hybrid option. This allows some of the services to continue to be traditionally managed on local servers. Azure offers a wide range of benefits for a broad audience.
It is not easy to achieve a clear result when comparing it. Instead, choosing the right provider always depends primarily on your needs and the underlying project. Therefore, you should first analyze exactly what value you expect in cloud computing and then compare your results with the AWS and AZURE offerings. In this way, you can find the provider that best suits you individually.
